Confident working parenthood.

A structured, high-touch coaching experience designed to support you through one of the most significant transitions of your career and life.

What is it?

RETAIN Parental Leave Coaching™ provides expert support during your preparation for leave, while you’re away, and as you navigate your return.

It gives you a structured way to think through decisions, prepare for conversations, and handle challenges as they come up. Instead of figuring it out on your own, you have support and a plan for each step of the transition. It helps you intentionally plan for time away from work, navigate your leave, and return with clarity and confidence.

Who This is For

Our coaching supports high-performing professionals who are stepping into parenthood.

They want to navigate the transition with intention, balancing their commitment to career with the needs of this new season of life.

If these statements resonate, our coaching might be a great fit. You are…

  • Deeply invested in your career and unsure how leave will impact it.

  • Overwhelmed by how to prepare. It feels like everything is on you to figure it out.

  • Navigating unclear policies, expectations, or support at work.

  • Wanting to return to work feeling confident, not behind or uncertain.

  • Feeling pressure to “handle it well” without a clear roadmap.

  • The first (or one of the few) at your company to take parental leave.

You know you can’t control every aspect of this time in your life, but you want to be as prepared as possible.

What Makes it Different

This is not generic advice or one-off support.

Using a proven framework developed by the Center for Parental Leave Leadership, we’ll work through the decisions, conversations, and identity shifts that happen at each stage.

There’s a reason you don’t see pre-built packages or hourly rates on our website. Every coaching engagement is custom-designed for each client. This is a structured coaching experience built around the key transition points of parental leave. You’re supported not just before you leave, but all the way through your return to work, in the way that best meets your situation and needs.

Support during this transition is personal and it should feel like a true fit. Whether that’s a coach, a doula, OB, or midwife, you should feel confident about who is on your team. Our complimentary call is designed to give you space to connect, ask questions, and explore how coaching could support your plans and fit within your budget. No pressure, just a clear next step.

The Structure

Each RETAIN Coaching™ plan is custom-designed to meet the needs of each client.
Broadly, RETAIN uses a 3 Phases of Leave™ framework that breaks planning down into manageable chunks.

Phase 1: Preparing for Leave

This phase is about creating clarity, structure, and confidence before you step away.

Together, we will:

  • Clarify your priorities and values (your “North Star”)

  • Utilize the Parental Leave Transition Assessment™ (PLTA) to analyze your specific needs

  • Build your personalized Next Steps Action Plan (NSAP) to clearly document your leave plans.

  • Navigate leave policies and identify key questions to ask

  • Prepare for conversations with your manager and stakeholders

  • Design a communication strategy

  • Ensure your work, clients, and responsibilities are thoughtfully transitioned

Phase 2: During Leave

This phase supports you as you move through the real experience of leave.

Together, we will:

  • Process the identity shift of becoming a parent

  • Normalize and navigate the emotional realities of leave

  • Acknowledge and normalize mental health needs

  • Support decision-making around connection to work

  • Begin preparing (gently and intentionally) for your return

  • Identify emerging needs, questions, and supports

  • Utilize the plans created during phase 1 to ensure a supported postpartum period

Phase 3: Returning from Leave

This phase is about helping you return to work with clarity, confidence, and sustainability.

Together, we will:

  • Guide your reentry with a clear plan and realistic expectations

  • Navigate conversations around boundaries, flexibility, and support

  • Adjust your workload and priorities in a sustainable way

  • Build confidence in your new identity as a working parent

  • Define what success looks like in this next chapter

  • Leverage your experience as a parent to build well-aligned opportunities for further career development

A Better Way to Approach Parental Leave

Most companies and people navigate parental leave reactively, figuring things out as they go. This work allows you to move through it intentionally. Having a coach to guide that process can make all the difference.

You don’t need to choose between being good at your job and being present in your life.

You can grow in both.
